Reversible Logic Synthesis Benchmarks Page

you are in... Main\Copy

Content of this web project has been recently copied by the following group of people: Robert Wille, Daniel Grosse, Lisa Teuber, Gerhard W. Dueck, and Rolf Drechsler. Contrary to the false advertisement, there was no permission given to copy content of this web page. In fact, on October 13, 2009 I emailed to Robert Wille, Daniel Grosse, Gerhard W. Dueck, and Rolf Drechsler, requesting that circuits taken from this webpage without permission be removed from their online project, and as of today, October 30, 2009 this has not been done.

Consider circuit for rd73 taken from this web page. It was created by hand (solely by myself), described in the paper with a single author (myself), and posted on this page (again, by myself). The above group had absolutely nothing to do with this circuit, and yet, they reposted it with the changed header suggesting it belongs to them. Indeed, how else would you read "# This file has been taken from RevLib (www.revlib.org)." (third row in the circuit specification)? This is simply not true! In fact, Gerhard W. Dueck recognizes this in his reply to my email dated October 13, 2009. He writes: "Every function and circuit that has been copied from "your" website, has been properly referenced." This is an interesting sentence.

a. Gerhard W. Dueck recognizes the fact of copying.

b. "has been properly referenced". Right, with "This file has been taken from RevLib (www.revlib.org).". And, indeed, "Every function".

c. Quotes around word 'your' in ""your" website" are ludicrous. It is a direct insult. I excuse myself from further comments.

To Robert Wille, Daniel Grosse, Lisa Teuber, Gerhard W. Dueck, and Rolf Drechsler: I explicitly prohibit this group from copying any (particularly, new---published October, 2009 or later) functions and circuits I am posting on this web page unless they have a written permission from those listed as authors or myself. Myself, when an author, I grant no such permission.

To the research community: feel free to ignore this completely. The reason to post this message is it takes time to update this web page, and it does not encourage to see how the content may be just copied, especially, when copying involves addition of the falsified headers. An unfortunate consequence of these events is the introduction of the copyright information to any new material posted on this page. I am sorry to have to do this, but I believe there was/is a good reason for that.

Everything written here is a personal opinion of myself, Dmitri Maslov, and nothing more. It may, though unlikely, change as future opens new insides.

Sincerely,

Dmitri Maslov
